Sallekhana / About
The will
to continue.
What we inherit does not have to be what we pass on.
Sallekhana makes music about control, inherited harm, and the difficult work of changing direction.
Working in the territory of industrial, darkwave, and electronic music, Sallekhana confronts the pressure of religious authority and political influence alongside the quieter forces that shape a life: depression, shame, and patterns carried between generations.
The music returns to a tension between what happens to us and what we do with it. Pain can explain a pattern without excusing the harm it causes. Breaking that pattern takes courage, accountability, and the choice to keep trying.
There is room here for anger and grief, but also for perseverance. The aim is not a spotless redemption. It is a life that is no longer governed by what came before.
